A very old and well known taste treat eaten almost daily in the latin world, Churros is a fairly new sensation in NZ. It originated in Spain where shepherds started making them on their wanderings through the mountains. Churros is a sweet pastry; crisp and crusty on the outside and smooth and moist in the centre. Churros is served with cinnamon sugar, and/or chocolate or caramel sauce or custard and it is absolutely heavenly!!

Kerikeri Organics sells their own vegetables, other local growers’ produce, NZ wide fruit and veges and NZ grown and imported dried goods. We fish from a remote river on the west coast of the South Island about 30km north of Haast. The river is part of a world heritage site . The pristine environment is reflected in the quality of our whitebait.
The season starts on 1st August and finishes 14th November. Our whitebait is snap frozen only moments after being caught. We then drive it north with a generator to keep it frozen. We cook our fritters with free range eggs and the mix is gluten free.
