Last year’s visitors to the annual Ocean and Orchard Festival were well and truly ‘WOWED’ by the talent and creativity that presented itself at the Wearable Arts Competition. With a prize pool that couldn’t help but entice some of the best talent this region has to offer, the crowds were amazed by the spectacle on display.The innovative use of materials such as builder’s foam, bean-bag beads, chicken-wire, cor-flute, wire, tea-dyeing, and all manner of reclaimed materials amazed and impressed the judges.
The Wearable Arts competition is now well-established in the Bay of Islands, and the organisers wish to give this year’s entrants notice of the theme for Saturday 28th of February 2015:
I dreamt I saw a …….
This theme is to be completely open to individual interpretation, however the outfit must have a 10% component of Ocean or Orchard, be it either in theme or in materials used.
